On this tour, you will be exposed to two of the most notable local Malaysian crafts, batik and pewter, where you will learn how they are made and appreciate the intricate techniques and historical importance such crafts hold for the local community. The excursion starts with Jadi Batik and Central Market, where you will get to witness the intricate art of batik-making by skilled artisans and have the chance of batik printing yourself. Central Market is known for selling an array of local Malaysian crafts and there is various batik fabric designs and products made from such fabric that you will get to see.
Next, you will head to the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, where an interactive experience with one of the world's oldest pewter manufacturers awaits. This tour offers insights into the history, artistry and process of crafting exquisite pewter items, with opportunity to try your hand at pewter casting.
The excursion will end with lunch at a “peranakan” restaurant, featuring authentic local cuisine which uniquely blends Malay and Chinese flavours, in a cozy and charming setting.
